FanDuel releases odds for two key 2024 Ohio State football games

It is never too early to dive into the 2024 college football season and FanDuel has released some early lines for a few of the key games for next year. Very few games are given lines at this point and FanDuel is one of the only sportsbooks to produce odds this early. In fact, the selection is limited to just 11 games.

Of those games that have odds listed, the Ohio State football program makes an appearance in two of the contests. The Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines are the only two other teams to make multiple appearances on the inaugural lines, which shows how important the Buckeyes are to the betting market.

The first game listing Ohio State has the Oregon Ducks as -1.5 favorites over the Buckeyes for their October 5 faceoff in Eugene. Next season will be the first for the Ducks in the Big Ten and should be an interesting matchup. I find this line insanely intriguing because with the departure of Bo Nix, my guess was OSU being the favorite.

The second game is obviously “The Game,” and despite losing three in a row, Ohio State is actually favored over Michigan by -4.5. This spread is crazy to me. I understand the Wolverines have a ton of talent leaving, but it is very clear that Michigan has Ryan Day’s number. My only guess is that the odds are taking into consideration the possibility of Jim Harbaugh’s departure (that or the ton of players deciding to come back at OSU).

It is much too early for me to provide any predictions or place any money on these games, but the pros will tell you that the earlier the better.
