Fletcher and Corleone Tabbed Preseason Second Team All-America by Sporting News

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati football junior punter and redshirt sophomore defensive lineman were named to the 2023 Sporting News Preseason All-America Second Team on Tuesday.
Fletcher was recently selected to the preseason watch list for the 2023 Ray Guy Award, which is presented annually to the nation's top punter, after he finished as one of the three finalists for the honor in 2022. He collected 2022 Associated Press Third Team All-America and All-AAC First Team accolades and was voted the AAC Special Teams Player of the Year last fall.
The Melbourne, Australia native boasts the nation's top returning average following a sophomore season where he ranked fourth with a 46.2 average and totaled 14 punts of 50 yards or more in 2022, in addition to 29 punts downed inside the 20. His career-long punt of 84 yards at SMU shattered the previous Cincinnati and American Athletic Conference records.
Fletcher was also named preseason All-Big 12 by conference media and a preseason All-American by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports earlier this offseason.
Corleone is coming off an impressive August that saw him recognized on the preseason watch lists for the 2023 Outland Trophy, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and Chuck Bednarik Award. Additionally, he was tabbed preseason All-Big 12 by conference media and selected as a preseason All-American by the Athletic, Phil Steele, Athlon Sports and Walter Camp Football Foundation.
The Cincinnati native collected 2022 All-AAC First Team and Third Team All-America selections by the Associated Press and Pro Football Focus after he totaled 45 tackles, 5.5 TFLs, three sacks, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in only 11 games as a redshirt freshman last fall. Corleone was also named an AFCA and College Football News Freshman All-American.
Corleone finished as the nation's highest-graded defensive player by PFF (93.8) in 2022 and recorded a single-season run defense grade (94.7) that was the best of any player since 2019.
