Florida football: Gators put emphasis on special teams

Florida's debut on Saturday is against No. 7 Utah at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Florida coach Billy Napier appeared on the SEC football coaches teleconference on Wednesday.

Gators coach says special teams are important because they give players an opportunity to work together. Florida football spends more time than most on special teaming. The team also focuses on planning and meetings.

Jeremy Crawshaw returns as the starting punter for the University of Florida. The position battle continues at kicker. Napier believes field position is very valuable.

Florida will release its depth chart later Wednesday evening. Coach Napier says the number of snaps players play each week will be based off how they did the previous week and how the team observes them. Off-the-field factors will also play a part in the decision-making.
