Man Utd to Win

Manchester United’s defeat against Crystal Palace at the weekend was arguably their most damaging of the season. United’s previous defeats to Spurs, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Brighton could at least be attributed to the opposition playing at a high level. There is no such excuse when playing Palace at home.

The defeat was made even worse by the fact that United had looked to have turned a corner against the very same opposition four days earlier and had a real chance to build some momentum with a handy fixture list.

They now must beat Galatasaray at home, both to get their season back on track and to get off the mark in the Champions League.

Anything other than a home win will put United under immense pressure in Group A and they cannot afford a performance like the one they produced on Saturday afternoon. Galatasaray have signed a significant number of journeymen players and look like a strong team on paper, but the Turkish side stuttered over the line in qualifying for the Champions League and required two late goals to snatch a home draw against 10-man Copenhagen in their opening game of the group stages.

United have no excuses, they simply must win.

Rasmus Hojlund to Score Anytime

Rasmus Hojlund scored on his Champions League debut for United and can add to his tally here.

The Danish striker has shown good movement in his early days as a United player and was desperately unlucky to see a league goal chalked off against Brighton after the ball had just about gone out of play in the build-up.

He took up good positions in the defeat against Palace at the weekend and seems to be the number nine his club have been crying out for.

He will find space in the box, it is just a matter of whether his team-mates can find him or not.

Casemiro to Have One or More Shots on Target

It speaks volumes about Manchester United’s attacking woes that a 31-year-old Casemiro is their top scorer in all competitions.

The Brazilian midfielder has scored four goals in all competitions and has been a consistent threat this season.

He is excellent in the air, as demonstrated against Palace last week in the League Cup, and he is not afraid of shooting from range.

All told, he is a good price to land at least one effort on target.

Galatasaray to Have Four or More Shots on Target

United look vulnerable against every side they come up against at the moment. Erik Ten Hag’s side have faced 46 shots on target in nine games in all competitions this season, facing an average of over five shots on target per game.

They have faced at least four shots on target in all but two of their games this season, with Crystal Palace failing to do so on two occasions. Considering Palace were more than happy to sit in and soak up pressure, that is hardly surprising.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, registered five shots on goal in their opening Champions League game and average over six shots on target per game in the Turkish league.

There is every chance that a vulnerable United face a number of shots on target.

Galatasaray to Commit 14 or More Fouls

Tuesday’s game is an equally huge game for Galatasaray, who snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat in their opening game.

Galatasaray typically rely on home form in the Champions League, so if they can snatch a draw or, even better, a victory at Old Trafford, it would set them up for qualifying from Group A, despite their slip-up at home on the opening day.

Consequently, Tuesday’s game is likely to be a tense affair with plenty of niggly fouls.

Galatasaray commit an average of over 14 fouls a game in the Super Lig and are likely to be without the ball for large parts of the game at Old Trafford, so there is every chance that they will commit a large number of fouls to break up any United momentum.
