Crystal Palace to Commit 13 or More Fouls

Crystal Palace have made a quietly decent start to their Premier League campaign, taking seven points from their opening four games. Roy Hodgson’s side actually find themselves above Aston Villa, who have been on the receiving end of comprehensive away defeats either side of two consecutive wins.

Palace find themselves near the top of the table in terms of fouls committed per game, averaging 13 fouls per 90 minutes so far this season. Only Newcastle and Bournemouth have made more, and Hodgson’s side could be forced into several fouls against a Villa side that has so far been patchy.

Fulham to have 5 of More Shots on Target

Fulham have enjoyed a strange start to their Premier League campaign, scraping an undeserved win at Everton on the opening day of the season before being beaten convincingly by Brentford at home. They have since drawn at Arsenal and lost at Manchester City with a big hand from a poor refereeing decision when the score was 1-1, although they probably would have lost anyway.

They simply have to win at home on Saturday against a Luton side who are pointless after four games and in danger of breaking Derby’s unwanted record of lowest points in a Premier League season.

Luton have faced the third-most shots in the league so far behind Bournemouth and Sheffield United. Rob Edwards’ side face an average of 18.3 shots per game and have conceded the third-most goals in the division, The Cottagers should put their opponents under significant pressure and could easily land five efforts on goal.

Over 3.5 Goals

Neither Manchester United nor Brighton have shown a strong aptitude for defending in their opening four games of the season. The Seagulls have conceded in every game they have played, despite winning three of them convincingly. They also conceded three goals against West Ham despite enjoying almost 80% of the ball.

Going forward, Brighton are among the best in the league and have scored a hugely impressive 12 goals in four games, the best attacking record in the league so far.

They should have a lot of joy against a United defence that has been even more porous than Brighton’s. The hosts have conceded seven goals in their last three games and miraculously kept a clean sheet against Wolves despite facing the most shots they have ever faced in a game at Old Trafford since records began.

United can also hurt Brighton going forward and the attacking three of Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho that finished the game against Arsenal looks quite dangerous. There should be plenty of goals on Saturday.

Tottenham -1

Sheffield United are somewhat unlucky to find themselves with one point from four games despite never losing a game by more than a goal. That could change on Saturday afternoon against Ange Postecoglou’s exciting Spurs team.

Spurs have scored 11 goals in four league games under Postecoglou and ripped Burnley apart in their final game before the international break. They could give the same treatment to another newly-promoted side here.

Rodri to Attempt 90 Passes or More

West Ham’s victory over Brighton with just 22% possession was peak David Moyes and the Hammers will probably find themselves with a similar amount of possession against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

City’s average of 67.6% possession is the second-highest in the league, while West Ham’s average of 36.3% is the third-lowest, which has been beefed up by the fact that they enjoyed 62% of the ball against Luton, who boast the second-lowest possession average in the league. The away side are almost certainly going to enjoy more than 70% of the ball on Saturday and Rodri is likely to attempt at least 90 passes.

The Spanish maestro is the heartbeat of City’s midfield and boasts a staggering average of 113 passes per game, by far the highest in the league. Rodri is accurate with 94.5% of his passes, meaning that he attempts well over 120 passes per game.

Erling Haaland to have 3 or More Shots on Target

It was in this fixture last season that Erling Haaland announced himself as a Manchester City player. He scored twice in a 2-0 win at the London Stadium on the opening day and there is nothing to say that he will not do so again. He will certainly try anyway.

The Norwegian striker averages five shots per game – the highest in the league – and has scored six goals in his opening four games. There is every chance that he lands three efforts against the Hammers.
