post 1 we find General Jim. This is the son of Into Mischief and is trained by Shug McGaughey. Odds to win this race are 6-1.

General Jim won the seven-furlong Swale Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park in February.  He ran third in the Central Park at Aqueduct on the grass and switched back to dirt at Gulfstream with a fourth-place finish in the Mucho Macho Man. Possible winner and in the money.

Post 2 is Legacy Isle at 20-1 odds to win. He is the son of Shackleford and is trained by Rohan Crichton.

Legacy Isle finished fourth in the Holy bull, first in the Mucho Macho Man. This horse isn’t likely to earn any money in this race.

At Post 3 we find Shadow Dragon, at 12-1 odds, and is trained by Bill Mott and will be ridden by Jose Ortiz. He is the son of Army Mule.

Forte is in post 4. He is trained by Todd Pletcher and is the son of Violence. His jockey will be Irad Ortiz, Jr.

This will be his first race of the year. He was good in the juvenile campaign. He was victorious in three Grade 1 races and was named the Eclipse Award winner as a 2 year old male.He already has 40 qualifying points with wins in the Breeders’ Futurity and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. Good choice to win.

At 30-1 odds and at post 5, we find Il Miracola, the son of Gun Runner. This horse is trained by Antonio Sano and will have Edgar Perez aboard.

This horse began its career with three second pace finishes at Gulfstream and then got a victory in a mile race. He was sent to New York and didn’t fare well  before going back to Florida and a seventh place finish in the Mucho Macho Man race followed by a fifth in the Holy Bull. This horse is not likely to finish in the money.

Blazing Sevens is in post six with 7-2 odds to win the Fountain of Youth Stakes. He is the son of Good Magic and is trained by Chad Brown and the jockey is scheduled to be Joel Rosario.

Blazing Sevens will make his first start of the year as a favorite to win the Kentucky Derby in May. He won his first race and broke his maiden by six lengths at Saratoga. He finished third in the Grade 1 Hopeful behind Forte. Then Blazing Sevens was victorious in the Champagne. A choice to win.

Post 7 is Mage, son of Good Magic and trained by Gustavo Delgado. Javier Castellano will be on mount for the Fountain of Youth Stakes. The odds for this horse are 8-1.

In his debut he defeated a field of eight to break his maiden at Gulfstream in January.  This is a step in class for this race. Not ready to join these races in quality.

Rocket Can is 8-1 odds and in post 8. He is the son of Into Mischief and trained by Bill Mott.

He broke his maiden at Churchill Downs on a sloppy track after two unimpressive tries at Saratoga. In the Grade 2 Rebel Stakes he finished in second place but picked up qualifying points with a win in the Holy Bull. Could finish in he money.

At post 9 is Cyclone Mischief at 12-1 odds. He is the son of Into Mischief and is trained by Dale Romans.

Cyclone Mischief was a disappointment in the Holy bull as he went off as the 6-5 favorite and finished in seventh place. He has two wins at Gulfstream, including his maiden but came in seven the at the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club  after leading going into the stretch. Likely not to finish in the money.

At post 10 is Dangerous Ride who is the son of Lord Nelson and is 30-1 odds to win/ His trainer is Carlos David.

Dangerous Ride won his debut in May at Gulfstream and he continue seven more stakes races at the race track. He was very poor on the turf. In January, Dangerous Ride won a seven-furlong allowance on the main track at Gulfstream by more than two lengths on the lead the whole way. Not one to worry about.

Fountain of Youth Stakes Summary

Forte and Blazing Sevens are the favorites to win, based on their work as 2 year olds. Since neither have raced since November they may be fresher than others , They have top trainers that got them here.

We have Blazing Sevens to win but like Shadow Dragon as a longshot to win. Use Forte in your ticket.
