French Open 2022: Which talented players could become stars at Roland-Garros?

The upcoming French Open is set to showcase plenty of new and existing talent. The Sporting News takes a look at which players could become stars at Roland-Garros in 2022.

Jannik Sinner has won five ATP singles titles. He is the youngest player to do so since Novak Djokovic in 2007.

Carlos Alcaraz has won tournaments in Miami, Barcelona and Madrid this year. He's in the ATP top 10 and has recently beaten Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. Alaraz is a big favourite to win the French Open in 2022.

Taylor Fritz won his first Masters 1000 title at Indian Wells this year. The 24-year-old from San Diego turned pro in 2015. He is aiming to become the first American to win a men's singles grand slam tournament since Andy Roddick at the U.S. Open in 2003.

2022 has been a redemption year for Thanasi Kokkinakis. He has won the doubles title with Nick Kyrgios and the Australian Open. Kokkins has mixed singles results since then.

Iga Świątek is a promising young player who could become a star at the French Open 2022. She took Ash Barty's world No. 1 ranking earlier this year and has recently won the Miami and Indian Wells tournaments.

Daria Saville is currently ranked 134th in the world for women's singles. Savile had previously reached a career-high ranking of 20th. She was knocked out in first round of this year's Australian Open.

Emma Raducanu won the US Open last year. She is without a coach for this French Open. Raduucana has performed well since her split with Torben Beltz.

Clara Tauson is one of the most promising Danish tennis players. She turned pro at the age of 17. At this year's Australian Open, she pushed Danielle Collins to three sets in the third round.
