The 2023 Orange Bowl will feature the two highest ranked teams that were left out of the College Football Playoff as the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles will face the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Saturday, December 30. The game will kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN.
Florida State (13-0) and all of its supporters are furious as it was left out of the playoff in favor of Alabama despite being the undefeated ACC Champion. The season-ending injury to starting quarterback Jordan Travis played a factor in the committee’s decision to snub the Noles as they had to rely on backup quarterbacks in their victories over Florida and Louisville.
Georgia (12-1) fell to Alabama in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game and its bid for a three-peat came to an end in the process. The loss also ended the Bulldogs’ 29-game win streak and they will have to settle for the Orange Bowl as a consolation prize.
