The Georgia Bulldogs take on the Florida State Seminoles in the Orange Bowl on Saturday, a game shrouded in bowl season controversy since the final College Football Playoff teams were announced. Outrage aside, the Orange Bowl is shaping up to be a memorable contest, and you can add extra action to the game by using our sportsbook promo codes to take advantage of our betting picks below.

The Bulldogs and the Seminoles meet for the first time since the 2003 Sugar Bowl, where Georgia emerged with a 26-13 win. These teams will look very different in the Orange Bowl, however, as Bulldogs’ star tight end Brock Bowers and offensive tackle Amarius Mims have opted out of the contest.

For the Seminoles, at least a dozen players have decided to sit out the game they were awarded after not being selected for the College Football Playoff. FSU went a perfect 13-0 in the regular season, but the injury to quarterback Jordan Travis and a strength-of-schedule argument left them on the outside looking in.

Quarterback Brock Glenn, who started the ACC Championship against Louisville, has been tabbed as the Seminoles starter after quarterback Tate Rodemaker entered the transfer portal.

Given Florida State’s personnel attrition for the Orange Bowl, you can have little confidence that they will come out of this contest with a win. Covering a 19.5-point spread, however? That’s another story. While FSU will be missing at least a dozen players who have decided to forego the bowl game, 19.5 points seems generous – especially against a Georgia team that will also be missing one of its top playmakers in Bowers.

FSU boasts one of the nation’s top defenses, and even if the Seminoles view the Orange Bowl as a consolation prize, they should be able to cover 19.5 points.

The Georgia Bulldogs tout one of the country’s top scoring offenses, having put up 499 points during the regular season. Against a Florida State team starting many reserves due to opt-outs in the Orange Bowl, they should be able to consistently put points on the board.

FSU is facing an uphill battle against one of college football’s best teams in Georgia. Freshman quarterback Glenn will be making his second start, his first coming in the ACC Championship in a win over Louisville. Glenn only completed eight of 21 passes for 55 yards in that contest, and was sacked four times. It will be tough sledding for the Florida State offense against a feisty Georgia defense.
