Ga Law seals poignant big-race win with Cheltenham regular remembered

Ga Law won the Paddy Power Gold Cup for the five members of The Footie Partnership. The partnership is named after their friend and Cheltenham regular Nick Foot who died from cancer in 2017. Ga Law was injured in the novice season in 2021. He won two races last season and finished third in Old Roan Chase at Aintree. He was unwell for 603 days after the spring festivals. His trainer Edward Whitaker hopes he can win the 2022 Paddypower Gold cup. Jonathan Burke won at the Cheltonham Festival in 2014 with Present View. It took him a while to get into a good rhythm in his first big-field handicap.
