GLOBAL CRICKET’S TOOTHLESS POLICING FORCE
In the past five years, four international players were banned for fixing matches. The ICC initiated 113 investigations in the last year. Four of the anti-corruption officers are from England, two from New Zealand and one from Thailand. Two temporary staffers from India and Pakistan play a limited role in investigations. The recruitment of anti corruption officers is coordinated and overseen by the ICC HR department. It is an HR manager who advertises positions and shortlists the candidates. They are interviewed before conducting the interview. Alex Marshall is the HR head of ICC. He is also the general manager of Anti-Corruption Unit.
