2:25 – Whispering Angel Oak Tree Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 (3yo+) 7f ITV: BREEGE @ 5/1 with Paddy Power
The Oak Tree Stakes has been a race that has seen a decent draw stat build up over the years with 5 of the last 7 winners coming from stalls 1,2 or 3. This means Fast Response, Internationalangel and Breege all have this stat on their side and so a chance is taken on the last-named.
The John Quinn yard were in the winners’ enclosure on Tuesday so we know their horses are in good order and this 3 year-old filly heads here having been a fine second (of 29) in the ultra-competitive Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot. Up into Group 3 company here but has run well at this level in the past and Breege has also thought good enough to tackle the highest level too when 7th in the Irish 1000 Guineas in May.
Being a 3 year-old, this 105-rated filly also gets a handy age allowance weight pull with the older horses (6lbs), while a 40-day freshening up period after her last run should have her ready to rumble again here.

Yes, the recent easy Sandown scorer Kylian will be all the rage here with Ryan Moore riding and it’s hard to fault his chance, while Royal Ascot winner (Windsor Castle) Big Evs also sets a fair level of form.
But the value call is the Richard Hannon runner Baheer, who should have a lot more to come after just 2 runs and a nice win at Newbury last month. He dotted up by 2 1/2 lengths that day over 6f so we know he stays a bit further than this 5f trip and was also eased down there.
The other big plus is the top record in the Molecomb Stakes for the Richard Hannon yard – they’ve won the last two renewals and 5 of the last 21. Jockey Pat Dobbs has also been in the winners’ enclosure twice since 2013 for the Hannons and his experience in the saddle is a big bonus.
