Grand National 2022: Thursday weather forecast for Aintree after Met Office warning

Met Office issues a yellow weather warning for Merseyside ahead of the Grand National festival. Winds will reach 50-60 mph and rain is expected from 8pm on Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. High temperature of 7°C is predicted, but it will feel like 2° C. Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are possible. Short term loss of power and other services could occur in a few locations.

NHS Day will see 35,000 fans flocking to Aintree on Thursday. 10,00 of them are visiting because the racecourse donated tickets to NHS workers across Merseyside. There will be seven top class races on the day. The gates will open at 11:00 am.
