Grand National Steeplechase Day Betting Tips
The Ballarat Turf Club is hosting a six-race card on Grand National Steeplechase Day on Sunday afternoon. The day of jumping starts at 11:55 am AEST.
The Cossack was not very good in the Grand National Hurdle at Sandown on August 7. He will be better prepared for the wetter conditions in Sunday's Grand Nats Steeplechase. Shaun Phelean will have him settled towards the rear of the field.
Brungle Bertie is the best bet at Ballarat. Henry Dwyer-trained gelding finished in the middle of the pack in Crisp Steeplechase at Sandown. Brungle is more of a grinder and will look to outstay his rivals in testing conditions.
Amy McDonald-trained Yulong Rising has been racing in consistent form and is a good value at Ballarat. He has three minor placings from his last four starts, including two seconds. Last time out he was beaten four-lengths by Heir To The Throne at Sandown.
