Grizzlies at Timberwolves Prediction

The Memphis Grizzlies and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Friday night.

The Memphis Grizzlies have really cooled off from their 11-game win streak as they are now hoping to snap a four-game losing streak after falling just short to the Warriors in a 122-120 road loss on Wednesday. Ja Morant led the team with 29 points and 12 assists on 10 of 20 shooting, Desmond Bane added 20 points, Brandon Clarke scored 19 points while Jaren Jackson Jr. chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 42 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 10 points, only to allow the Warriors to run them down and escape on a layup from Jordan Poole in the final seconds.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been playing well as they’ve won nine of their last 13 games overall and they will be eager to stay hot after beating the Pelicans in a 111-102 road win on Wednesday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 37 points, six rebounds and five assists, D'Angelo Russell added 19 points with five assists while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 29 from the 3-point line as they allowed the Pelicans off to a flyer and trailed by as many as 12 points in the first half, but they didn’t panic and dominated the third quarter by 39-21 to erase the deficit and win comfortably in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following an ATS win and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Timberwolves are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the under is 4-0 in the last four meetings overall and the Grizzlies are 19-8 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall.

The Grizzlies are again missing John Konchar and Steven Adams, while Desmond Bane is listed as day to day. The Timberwolves are still without Karl-Anthony Towns and Taurean Prince while Rudy Gobert is listed as questionable with a groin injury. The Grizzlies have really gone off the boil lately with four losses in a row, but to be fair, three of those losses were by two points or less. The regular season series is split at 1-1, but the Grizzlies are 19-8 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall and I think they can snap out of their funk with a much-needed victory here.
