Hawks vs. Spurs prediction and odds for Sunday, March 19 (Impossible to trust Spurs)

The Atlanta Hawks are two games back of the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, but they have a chance to pick up some ground on the Miami Heat when they take on the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

The Spurs are awful, falling to the No. 15 spot in the West by losing back-to-back overtime games despite holding leads in each of them.

Now, they have to take on an Atlanta team that beat them by 19 points earlier this season without several key players. Jeremy Sochan, Khem Birch, Devonte’ Graham and Charles Bassey are out for this game while Keita Bates-Diop is doubtful.

The Hawks have listed Trae Young as questionable, but they still may be the side to back even if he can’t go.

Hawks vs. Spurs odds, spread and total

Hawks vs. Spurs prediction and pick

Atlanta should have no problem scoring against the Spurs’ league worst defense, as the team is fifth in offensive rating over its last 10 games.

The Spurs held leads against the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks in their last two games, only to go on to lose in overtime. They’re really putting on a masterclass in tanking right now.

When these teams played in Atlanta, the Hawks were up just one at the half, but they outscored the Spurs 32-17 in the third quarter to eventually win easily.

San Antonio simply doesn’t have the offensive firepower to get into a shootout with the Hawks, and Atlanta is going to try to push the pace and get easy baskets on this defense.

I refuse to trust a Spurs team that is .500 against the spread as a home dog despite playing a ton of games where it is getting double digit points.
