Heat vs. Kings prediction and odds for NBA Summer League (Keegan Murray powers Kings)

The Sacramento Kings had one of the best players in the NBA’s Summer League last season in Keegan Murray, and the second-year forward is back – and dominating – in the California Classic this summer.

Murray scored 29 points on Monday in a six-point win over the Golden State Warriors, shooting 8-for-17 from the field and 10-for-11 from the line.

Now, Murray and the Kings take on the Miami Heat – who put up 107 points on the Los Angeles Lakers in their Summer League opener on Monday.

Rookie Jaime Jacquez Jr. (22 points) led the way for Miami in the win, but can the Heat take down the Kings at their home event?

Here’s a look at the odds and my best bet for this Summer League clash:

Heat vs. Kings odds, spread and total

Spread

  • Heat +1.5 (-110)
  • Kings -1.5 (-110)

Moneyline

  • Heat: +105
  • Kings: -125

Total

  • 176.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

Heat vs. Kings prediction and pick

It’s pretty simple – as long as Murray plays, the Kings are the team to bet.

The former No. 4 overall pick was able to get whatever he wanted against the Warriors, and I expect the same will be true against the Heat.

Miami is due for some regression after shooting 15-for-33 from beyond the arc against the Lakers on Monday, so I’d much rather back the Kings than take the OVER in this game.

The Heat have some solid NBA talent in Jacquez Jr. and Nikola Jovic, but neither compares to Murray in this setting.

Trust the Kings as slight favorites.

Pick: Kings ML (-125)
