The Canada Sevens is taking place at BC Place this weekend. It's a two-day mini World Cup tournament featuring teams from 16 countries. The event is expected to draw close to 80,000 fans.

Canada's men's team is ranked 11th of the 18 countries who've played in at least one Sevens Series event this season. The best Canada has managed this year is a joint seventh-placed finish at the New Zealand Seven's. Canada's had three 11-place finishes and fell to 13th at Las Vegas. A pre-season labour dispute hampered preparations and resulted in a player boycott.

Nathan Hirayama, Carlin Isles and Sione Molina are some of the players to watch at the 7s tournament in Vancouver. Fiji is the best supported visiting team at BC Place the last three years. Team USA is emerging as a sevens powerhouse, featuring in five tournament finals this season.
