Both teams head into derby weekend in the midst of a bad run of form and in need of a result to spark a good run of form heading into the final stretch of the season.
The home side have lost their last four matches heading into the weekend, having won six of their previous eight league matches following the turn of the year.
The recent run of defeats has seen the side fall into sixth place, just one point ahead of seventh placed Livingston ahead of the penultimate game before the league gets split into two.
Hearts have also been on a bad losing streak, losing all of their last five matches, and six of their last seven.
The most recent defeat, a 2-0 loss at home to St Mirren, saw the sacking of manager Robbie Neilson after three years in charge, with former player Steven Naismith taking charge on an interim basis.

Hearts’ superior goal difference means that despite being six points clear of Livingston with two games to go, their top six finish is all but confirmed.
Hibs are winless against Hearts this season having met on three previous occasions, and haven’t got the better of the Tynecastle Park side in their last nine meetings.
