Hong Kong International Raceday preview and tips: Sunday, December 11

The Hong Kong International Raceday is on Sunday, December 11th. There are four Group One races on the menu, highlighted by the HK$34m Longines Hongkong Cup.

Circuit MIGHTY (1) can make it back to back wins in the first race of the Hong Kong International Raceday on Sunday, December 11. PERFECT PEACH (9) should enjoy a nice trail from the inside barrier. WIDE BLUE YONDER (2) dropped to This grade on November 6 and was solid when running on for 6th. ADEFILL (12) will be thereabouts.

MIGHTY STRIDE (2) can make it two wins from as many career starts when he steps out in Race 2. NICETOBEMET (8) has won two trials and gets the tick of approval from Purton. REGENCY BOBO (3) is a veteran that has run on to fill the exacta at his past two races. THE HULK (1) resumes and will be ridden by Joao Moreira.

Victor The Winner (4) can overcome the draw with James McDonald to ride. READY TO WIN (6) didn't have much luck in his first two runs of the season before positioning handy on November 12 and sticking on to finish 3rd behind Phoenix Light. SCIENCE PATCH (9) was 3nd to Victor The winner last time and is better at the weights. Dragon's Luck (14) is worth considering.

Seven of the 10 horses in the Hong Kong Vase are from overseas. Japanese duo WIN Marilyn and Glory Vases are in this race. Stone Age is a three-year-old from the Aiden O’Brien stable.

Wellington (1) will be out to bounce back after finishing 6th to Lucky Sweynesse (4) at the track and trip on November 20. CORDYCEPS SIX (10) comes out of the same race as Wellington and settled back before running on for 5th. RESISTENCIA (14) is one of three of Japanese contingent and will run on.

SWEET ENCOUNTER (3) should be hard to beat in the Class 3 over 1800m. John Size-trained galloper has won three of four races. WOODFIRE BRO (4) comes in with some excellent form and was a two-length winner over the 2000m last time.

Golden Sixty and California Spruce are going to meet in the Group One race on Sunday, December 11. LAWS OF INDICES comes over from Australia and has placed in two of his past three races. BEAUTY JOY is a first four contender.

The last of the Group 1 races is the Hong Kong Cup (2000m) on Sunday, December 11. The local hope is ROMANTIC WARRIOR (2). The Hongkong Derby winner has won eight of nine races. PANTHALASSA (1) is an obvious danger. LEI PAPALE (12) comes from Japan and is each-way contender.

GOLDEN EXPRESS (10) should be tough to beat in Race 9. VOYAGE BUBBLE (6) might looks to lead. BON’S A PEARLA (1) makes her HK debut after claiming the Australasian Oaks (2000m) back in the autumn.

The Irishman (4) will try to turn things around after finishing 7th in his last race. ORIENTAL SMOKE (9) dropped out of the race that The Irish man won but has scored in three of his four starts this season. CIRCUIT STELLAR (8) has been in good form of late and gets saves ground from barrier 1. WINNING METHOD (6) is running on with James McDonald to ride.
