Hong Kong sees all-time record turnover for horse racing betting

The 2020/21 season ended on Wednesday. HK$136 billion has been wagered across the campaign’s 88 race meetings. HK $13.7 billion went to the Hong Kong government. The government-granted monopoly club provides pari-mutuel betting on horse racing in the region. There were a record 835 races and 88 meetings, which resulted in a 12.1% increase in turnover. World Pool, created by the Jockey Club and launched at Royal Ascot in 2019, also continued to show excellent growth.
