Horse racing predictions: Listowel, Goodwood and Kempton

Listowel hosts the Kerry National on Wednesday. The first action is from the day’s other National Hunt card at Perth. There are also races on the Flat at Redcar, Goodwood, Kempton, Southwell and all-weather at the last two all weather meetings.

Enda McElhinney's Wednesday horse racing predictions are below. Listowel, Goodwood and Kempton are the horses he likes today.

El Barra is the favourite for Wednesday's Guinness Kerry National over three miles at Listowel. Willie Mullins and Paul Townend won prizes on Sunday and Monday at the Harvest Festival. The winner of the race will receive €118,000.  El barra won at Limerick and Punchestown in the spring. Goodwood, Kempton and Goodwoods are the other races on Wednesday.

Cadillac is the first horse to start for new trainer George Boughey at Goodwood. He won a Group 3 contest at The Curragh last summer and raced in America, France and the Middle East before the season ended. Cadillac is reliable just outside the top grade. Charlie Appleby’s Royal Fleet lacks a recent run and requires a career best. Peter The Great folded tamely last time at Haydock and needs to bounce back to form.

Bug Boy is 3lb wrong at the weights but he could be worth chancing in this London Middle Distance Series Qualifier over 1m 3f. He was a winner over course and distance in June and followed that up in July with a success at Chepstow. Ray Dawson will ride Bug Boy at Kempton 7.15.
