HorseCenter: Kentucky Oaks top 12, Sam F. Davis top picks

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman reveal their current top 12 rankings for the 2023 Kentucky Oaks. Your hosts also offer analysis and top picks for a Kentucky Derby prep, Saturdsy's Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs.

Matt and Brian came up with a list of a dozen 3-year-old fillies who are worthy of your attention on the road to the Kentucky Oaks. There are fillies from all over the country from big-name trainers and lesser-known barns. Champion filly Wonder Wheel is on the list, and she is one of four sired by Into Mischief. Julia Shining, who is a full sister to champion Malathaat, is joined in this top 12 by two others from the barn of Todd Pletcher.

The Sam F. Davis drew a contentious field of 12 Kentucky Derby hopefuls in what might be the best betting race on the Derby trail thus far. The guys came up with different top choices, but both of them should come with good betting value.
