Hot Rod Charlie won the Al Maktoum Challenge Round 2 by 5 1/4 lengths. Trainer Doug O’Neill is preparing his horse for the Dubai World Cup on Mar. 26. Al Nefud finished 7 1 /2 lengths ahead of Everfast. Thegreatcollection, Go On, New Trails, Eastern World, Roman Rosso, Fire Group, Quip, and Kafoo finished close behind. The race was over 1.3 miles in 1:57.41.

Khantaro d’Oro was passed late by Withering in the trial for UAE classic on Super Saturday Mar 5. Sovereign Prince won Jumeirah Classic for sophomores. New Science finished third. The Al Bastakiya Trial took more than four seconds longer. Strongconstitution was runner-up to front-running Hypothetical in Firebreak ( G3).

When Al Nefud put the pressure on, they turned it on. In these good dirt races you never get them handed to you. That's why you need a good horse like this."
