How to bet Sunday Night Baseball between St. Louis Cardinals at Pittsburgh Pirates

All of the Major League Baseball teams hit the All-Star break on Sunday, capped off with the St. Louis Cardinals wrapping a four-game series at the Pittsburgh Pirates on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball.

The Cardinals have the majors' best record at 56-32 (.636), 3½ games better than the AL-leading Kansas City Royals. They also lead the NL Central by 3½ games over the Pirates despite losing the last two in Pittsburgh, including last night's 6-5 loss in 14 innings on Andrew McCutchen's walk-off homer after the Bucs had to rally from three separate deficits.

Regardless of Sunday's result, the Pirates will hit the All-Star break with the second-best record in the National League and could be second best in the majors if they win and the Royals lose.

This is the Pirates' first game on Sunday Night Baseball this season, while the Cardinals are a perfect 5-0.

ESPN Chalk's panel of handicappers has also been successful on Sunday nights. Joe Peta is 9-4 overall and up 5.35 units (based on risking the money line to win one unit if picking the favorite or laying one unit on the underdog). Dave Tuley, who has concentrated on over/unders, is 6-2 for a net profit of 4.05 units. Erin Rynning (4-2 and ahead 2.4 units) and Andrew Lange (4-3 and ahead 1.07 units), who alternate picks, don't have a strong opinion on tonight's game, but Peta and Tuley will try to keep up their winning ways with Peta on the side and Tuley on the total.
