How to Watch Baylor vs. Texas Tech
As conference schedules continue to grind on in the world of college basketball, two Big 12 rivals square off, as the Texas Tech Raiders get set to host the Baylor Bears on Tuesday night, both hoping to make up some ground in the standings.
The Bears are looking less and less like the team that won the national championship two years ago, and seem far from the team that was the No. 1 team in the nation last season. They come into Lubbock toward the bottom of the Big 12 standings, winning just two of their first five conference matchups, placing them in a tie for sixth place with Oklahoma. Baylor’s pair of conference victories have come in back-to-back games, beating West Virginia and Oklahoma State, though their losses to now-ranked Kansas State and TCU came by single digits. Their offense has been led by Keyonte George, who is averaging 17.2 points per game.
At the bottom of the conference sits the Red Raiders. While they were not expected to be contending for a conference title, not many expected Texas Tech to have such a poor start to their Big 12 schedule. After a trio of wins against lesser competition around the holidays, the Raiders have dropped five consecutive games, all against conference opponents, including a narrow loss to No. 10 Texas this past Saturday. Yet, despite this team’s vigor in some of their matchups, Texas Tech is winless in their five Big 12 matchups, placing them dead last in the conference.
Even though they might be the underdogs coming into Tuesday, the Red Raiders have had favorable results over the Bears over the year, winning 80 of the first 139 clashes, including a pair of wins over Baylor last season.
