How to Watch Houston vs. Wichita State

One of the top college basketball teams in the country looks to stay the course in conference play, building for a potentially deep run come March, as the Houston Cougars pay a visit to the Wichita State Shockers on Thursday night.

Houston has been having another incredible regular season, and is eyeing another American Athletic Conference championship. Though they suffered a loss to Temple a couple of weeks ago, the Cougars are unquestionably one of the best teams in the country, especially how they have been beating teams in conference play. Following their win last Saturday over Cincinnati, Houston has won back-to-back games, including coming out victorious in 11 of their last 12 contests. They lead Temple by a half-game in the AAC, who the Cougars will face off with this coming Sunday. Marcus Sasser has been at the forefront of the Houston offense, leading the team by averaging 16.2 points per game.

Wichita State knows they are underdogs coming into Thursday night, and hope to relish the role of the underdog. Following their win over East Carolina, the Shockers are 4-5 in AACtion, which has them sitting tied for sixth in the standings, four games back of Houston. The team has been up and down throughout the season, hence why they have been hovering around the .500-mark through 21 games. Wichita State has relied on tough defense in order to stay in games, which is why, in losses to Kansas State and Oklahoma State, the Shockers only have lost by 10 points or less.

Though Wichita State is 18-17 against Houston all-time, the Cougars have won back-to-back meetings, including winning seven of the last eight against the Shockers.
