Gautam Gambhir is the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He believes Indian players can't be expected not to endorse fantasy leagues if the BCCI president is himself endorsing them.

Gambhir believes that the BCCI president should ban the practice completely. He also believes everyone should follow the ban.

Gautam Gambhir believes that it should be a collective decision from the BCCI whether to allow fantasy league games to be played in IPL.

"I was always against people endorsing alcohol, tobacco and even this (online betting). I don't like that because it is a collective responsibility to see what should and should not be promoted in India, especially from the youngsters' point of view."
