Incommunicado takes no prisoners in Philly

It was bad enough for the rest of the field that Incommunicado led from start to finish in the $20,000 Open Trot at Harrah’s Philadelphia Sunday (July 30) afternoon, but for icing on the cake he made the harness racing victory a huge romp.

Starting from post three for driver George Napolitano, Jr., Incommunicado went right to the lead with Yanks Dugout (Simon Allard) getting the golden two-hole trip. They went by the opening quarter mile in :27.4.

With no one challenging, Incommunicado led to the half mile in :56.2 and the three-quarters in 1:23.3. Then Napolitano let his horse pour it on.

By the top of the stretch, Incommunicado was up by four and one-half lengths and at the finish wire he had demolished the field by six and one-half lengths in 1:51.2. Yanks Dugout was second with Inaminute Hanover (Tony Morgan) third.

INCOMMUNICADO REPLAY

It was the second straight win and third victory of the season for Incommunicado. The five-year-old gelding is trained by Ake Svanstedt for Knutsson Trotting Inc, Little E LLC, Arthur Geiger and David Stolz. He paid $4.40 to win as the wagering favorite.
