Sunrisers Hyderabad will be without their new captain Aiden Markram for this season opener outing as he remains on international duty, whilst Heinrich Klaasen will also miss the start of the IPL season.

It's better news for the Rajasthan Royals who come into this season with a full squad available to choose from. That said, they have lost Prasidh Krishna for the season due to injury, a big blow given his 19 wickets tally last campaign.

It's difficult to look past a win for the Rajasthan Royals in this IPL season opener. 

From Jos Buttler putting in some stunning batting performances to Yuzvendra Chahal taking plenty of wickets, they seem to have it all when it comes to identifying the best all-round side to win the competition this season. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad will prove no pushovers, but they perhaps still lack that real powerhouse of a batsman who will be able to match Buttler here. Their winning chances in this match also rely on key performances from players such as Washington Sundar and new man Harry Brook.

If English batsman Jos Buttler heads into the 2023 IPL season in form even slightly similar to that of last year then the rest of the league is in trouble. 

Last season, the Rajasthan Royals' big hitter finished with 863 runs to his name through 17 matches. That's a whopping 50.7 on average per outing, whilst his total was nearly 250 more runs than any other player in the league. 

As such, it's probable that Buttler will come out firing in this season opener for his side and at 6.80 with Dafabet, the price for him claiming the player of the match trophy seems like nice value.
