Irish Champion Stakes on the cards after stylish return to action from Tarnawa

Tarnawa won the Grant Thornton Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday. She was trained by Dermot Weld and trained under Colin Keane. Tarnawawa is now 7-1 for the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The Irish Champion Stake is the next target for Weld. The Breeders' Cup and Japan Cup are later in November and December. Patrick McCann revealed the Irish Championship Staking on September 12 is most likely next goal. He also revealed that Tarawana has been going extremely well at home. It's a long season and there are a lot of bridges to cross.

Tarnawa won her first race in 39 weeks. Dermot Weld is excited about the prospect of a clash with St Mark's Basilica at Leopardstown next month.
