Ironclad kicks off big Melbourne Cup carnival for Will Clarken

Will Clarken is taking a big team to Flemington for the Melbourne Cup Carnival. He is expecting to have runners at three of the four iconic meetings. Beau Rossa and Ironclad represent the stable on Derby Day. Ben Price will make his Flemmons debut on Second Slip. Balaklava Cup and Seymour Cup champion Noname Lane will race in the Listed Furphy Plate on the first day of November. The stable is less confident about the prospects of BeauRossa, a $21 chance in Group 3 Rising Fast Stakes. It is more confident with Second slip, who has a strong second-up record with three wins and a third from five starts.
