Mick Price believes Jacquinot ticks the right boxes to become an Everest winner

Jacquinot is in peak condition and Mick Price believes he has all the right attributes to become an Everest winner. The colt is going to race in The TAB Everest (1200m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Jacquinot won the Golden Rose at Rosehill on Thursday morning. Mick Price is hoping the track at Randwick gets to the soft range for the Everest. Jacquinots rated a $10 chance in latest TAB fixed odds betting on The Everest behind champion Nature Strip at $2.20. Chris Waller, trainer of Nature strip, believes Jacquintot is one of the hardest to beat in Saturday's big race.

Jacquinott could be kept in training to have a crack at the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day later this month. Grand Impact and stablemate Bews are also being set for the Coolmores Stud.

Ayrton and Our Playboy are racing in the Five Diamonds Prelude at Royal Randwick on Saturday. The Prelude is a $1 million lead-up race to the $2 million FiveDiamonds at Rosehill Gardens in two weeks.

Ayrton is the more favoured horse in early Five Diamond Prelude betting. Epsom Handicap winner Ellsberg is second at $3.10. Our Playboy is at a different price at only $12. Ayron finished second to I Wish I Win in the Listed Testa Rossa Stakes at Sandown late last month. Price-Kent stable is also sending Hezashocka to Randwick for the Group 3 $750,000 Craven Plate (1800m).
