Is This the Most Exciting Grand National in Years?
The Grand National took a break last year due to the rise of the ongoing global pandemic. The actual event will take place on April 10 at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. Randox Health is again the race’s and festival”s sponsor. In early February, officials announced 106 entries, including Tiger Roll, the winner of 2018 and 2019 races. Tiger roll withdrew before the scratching stage, citing excessive weight allocation.
This year's Grand National is the most exciting in years. Over £300 million is expected to be bet on the National this year. There is £1,000,00 prize money for the winner.
Cloth Cap is the favourite to win the Grand National. Ted Walsh's Any Second Now and Willie Mullins' Burrows Saint are second and third most likely to do so. Kimberlite Candy and Minella Times are not considered serious contenders. None of the horses mentioned have run in the National before.
The Grand National is no stranger to underdog wins. Secret Reprieve and Magic of Light are among the most likely winners for the 2021 race. Discorama, The Storyteller, Santini, Potters Corner, Bristol De Mai, and Lord du Mesnil are also worth a gander.
