The New York Islanders beat the New Yorkers 4-0 in their opening game of the 2021 season on Thursday. They play the Rangers again tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden. The Islanders are the clear-cut favorites. Anders Lee will look to build on his two-goal performance. Semyon Varlamov is projected to get the start in between the pipes. The next time the teams meet is on February 8 at the Garden, and the Islanders have ten games between them.

Alexandar Georgiev is expected to replace Igor Shesterkin in the Rangers' net. Kevin Rooney is not expected in tonight's game. Phillip Di Giuseppe is likely to take his place in line-up. Alexis Lafrenière will be moved up to the second line with Strome and Panarin. Kakko will play on the third line. Tony DeAngelo may get scratched after taking an unsportsmanlike penalty in Thursday's match. Brendan Smith is projected to come in for De Angelo and skate on a pair with K’Andre Miller. Lindgren will skate with Trouba and Johnson and Fox will skate together.
