Ivan Toney delivers brutal 'your mum' insult to Instagram troll after bookmakers comment

Brentford striker Ivan Toney has hit back at an online troll in brutal fashion after the fan aimed a dig at him over his recent betting charges.

Toney, 26, was hit with a total of more than 260 charges by the Football Association at the end of last year in relation to alleged breaches of betting rules under FA rule E8. He has been assisting the FA with their investigation with an outcome still pending.

In the meantime, the England international has still been finding the net on the field and is currently on a run of seven goals in his last nine games. And fans have now dug out Toney's classic response to a fan on Instagram after being targeted over his alleged gambling breaches.

Toney posted a picture on the social media platform of him walking wearing a casual tracksuit and fresh trainers, along with the caption: "I be chillin."

One of his followers commented on the post, writing: "On your way to the bookies?"

But Toney got the better of the exchange, as he tagged the fan whilst responding: "Nah your mum's gaff."

Toney's last goal came in controversial fashion in the 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Saturday February 11. VAR Lee Mason took three minutes to analyse Toney's equaliser, but while Brentford's Ethan Pinnock was offside in the build-up, the goal was still incorrectly allowed to stand.

Mason has since stood down from his duties and has left the PGMOL following the incident.

Toney was subjected to sickening racist abuse on Instagram after the Arsenal match. Brentford issued a statement condemning those who targeted the forward, who was the victim of similar treatment back in October last year.

"Immediately after Brentford’s game against Arsenal, Ivan Toney received a barrage of abusive, racist direct messages via his Instagram account," Brentford's statement read. "We are disgusted and saddened that Ivan has had to deal with this yet again.

"We will not tolerate it and we will do everything we can to pursue the individuals involved. Ivan was subject to similar abuse in October last year, and the perpetrator is now facing the consequences in court. How many times does this need to happen?

"We call on football fans everywhere to relish the competition and rivalry that exists between us, but to respect and embrace our differences and celebrate the diversity that exists throughout the Premier League. There is no room for racism.”
