Jo-Wilfried Tsonga issues GOAT statement & major Slam prediction on Novak Djokovic

French tennis legend Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has declared Novak Djokovic the greatest of all time and predicted the Serb could potentially win as many as 28 Grand Slam tournaments. Djokovic, who turned 36 in May, added three more Grand Slams to his pocket this year and became the first-ever man to win 24 Majors.

With 24 Grand Slams, Djokovic is two Slams clear ahead of Rafael Nadal and has four more Majors than Roger Federer. Djokovic will be turning 37 in half a year but he is still looking as good as ever on the court. “The GOAT is Djokovic.

And I think he can go for 25, 26, 27… Maybe 28 Grand Slam tournaments. You never know," Tsonga told Le Republicain Lorrain.

This year, Djokovic won the Australian Open, the French Open, and the US Open, while he only lost the final at Wimbledon.

After suffering a tight five-set defeat to Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final, Djokovic bounced back at the US Open, where he defeated Daniil Medvedev to win his 24th Slam. Djokovic owns the all-time record in men's tennis while he is tied with Margaret Court on the all-time tennis Slam record.

Next year, Djokovic will be aiming to become the first-ever tennis player male or female to win 25 Grand Slams. "I don't put any number right now in my mind on how many slams I want to win until the end of my career. I don't really have any number.

I'll continue to prioritize them as my most important tournaments and where I want to play the best tennis. So that will not change. That will stay the same in the next season or I don't know how many more seasons I have in my legs. So let's see," Djokovic said after winning this year's US Open.
