Jockey agent slapped with huge ban for betting against his own riders in horse races

Mark Van Triet has been disqualified by stewards for betting on thoroughbred races. He often bet against his own jockeys. His ban is effective immediately and will expire on 5 December 2022. Damien Oliver was banned for eight months in 2012 for putting a five-figure sum on a horse he was racing against. Damien was also banned from riding until September 2013. Van triet can ride again before the end of the year.
