Justify Wins Kentucky Derby, Conquering Rain, Mud and a 136-Year Curse

Justify has won the 144th Kentucky Derby. He is the third horse to do so since Apollo won in 1882. Bob Baffert's wife wore a green dress on Saturday. It was Baddert’s fifth Derby victory. It is also the sixth year in a row that the favorite has been the winner. The winner earned $1,432,000 for his jockey, trainer and owners. Audible finished third. There was a lot of rain at Churchill Downs. A bet to win was placed on $2.80. In racing, green is bad luck. For Bafert, it didn't bother him that his wife chose to wear a dress in green.
