Juvenile Mile: Reckoning Force gives O'Brien first win at track

Joseph O'Brien's horse Reckoning Force won the Juvenile Mile at Kentucky Downs. It was O’Brien's first win at the track. O's trainer sent four horses to Saratoga this summer. Stay Lost finished third in a Sept. 8 maiden race. Mayfield Strong finished second, 2.5 lengths behind Reckonings Force. Laver, King Ice, Castleknock and Mikey Bananas finished in the order of finish. Bourbon Therapy and Steele Money were scratched. Fergus Galvin bought into Reckonsion Force after his first start. He was scheduled to run in maiden on Sept 10, but the race was canceled.

Play Action Pass won the Pepsi Gun Runner Stakes at Kentucky Downs. The colt is owned by Bill Parcells. It was the first career win for trainer Robbie Medina. He was an assistant trainer to Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey. He has been out on his own for 2 1/2 years. His last start was at Ellis Park going 1.1 miles. Jockey Jose Lezcano rode him to the win. Le zcano also won a race at the Kentucky downs meet on Tuesday. he rode Freedom Speaks. Bill is a two-time Super Bowl-winning coach of the New York Giants.

Godolphin's 5-year-old mare Alms won for the first time in 12 races. Alm took the Pepsi One Dreamer Stakes by a nose over Burning Ambition. The winning time was 1:37.93 for a mile and 70 yards. Curly Ruth, Justify My Love, Navratilova, Rocking Redhead, Poca Mucha, Gogo Shoes, Ylikedis and Caroline's Story finished in that order. Tightly Twisted hung on for third place. Petricor came in fourth. Sunny One was scratched. It was the closing card of the FanDuel Meet at Kentucky Downs.
