Kentucky Derby wager: Tapit Trice win shortens him to 7-1

Tapit Trice's worst-to-first win in the Grade 3 Tampa Bay Derby Saturday brought shorter odds in pool 5 of the pari-mutuel Kentucky Derby Future Wager.

He stood at 7-2 shortly before midnight EST Saturday after being listed at 15-1 on the morning line and moving to 11-1 Saturday morning.

Fountain of Youth (G2) victor Forte, winner of four straight graded stakes remains the favorite at 7-2 after opening at 4-1.

The win pool stood at $149,541.

Arabian Knight has been taken off the Kentucky Derby trail, but that news had not been announced before the most recent odds were posted, so he remained listed at 6-1.

Next on the list is Practical Move, winner of the San Felipe (G2), who was at 10-1 after opening at 8-1.

All other 3-year-olds lengthened to 14-1 from 5-1.

Betting for pool 5 opened Friday and continues through Sunday at 6 p.m. EDT. The sole Kentucky Oaks Future Wager closes at 6:30 p.m. EDT. The sixth and final future wager pool for the Kentucky Derby will be offered March 30 through April 1.

These were the Kentucky Derby Future Wager pool five odds as of 11:50 p.m. EST compared with morning-line odds on each horse.
