Kentucky Farm Time Capsule: Unsolved 1934 Murder Of Famed Breeder Adds Mystery To Historic Ramsey Farm
The men killed Blackburn Knight and robbed him of his money and a safe. They also killed his nephew, Dixie Knight, and his wife, Lydia. The safe contained insurance papers, a diamond ring and the diamond pin. A $2,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the murderers. The clothing they wore was collected and taken to Lexington Police Department for evidence. Blackburn's car was searched and dusted for fingerprints. Police speculated Dixie Knight may have recognized one or both of her nephew's killers. She heard muffled gun shots. It was never claimed.
