Star jockey Kerrin McEvoy will get a golden chance to win his third Stradbroke Handicap, and his second for Godolphin, after scoring the ace ride on Aft Cabin.

McEvoy has never ridden the boom Blue Army three-year-old colt before, but Racenet can reveal he has got the gig for Queensland's most prestigious race on June 10.

Aft Cabin is currently $9 for the $3m race at Eagle Farm on June 10.

McEvoy last won the Stradbroke in 2019 when he scored on Godolphin galloper Trekking for trainer James Cummings.

He previously won the Stradbroke in 2015 on Srikandi for Ciaron Maher.

McEvoy has been a regular visitor to Queensland winter carnivals but has rarely been seen in the Sunshine State in recent times.

The 81-time Group 1 winning jockey will ride Aft Cabin at 53kg in the Stradbroke.

Aft Cabin has won over $1.1m in prizemoney but has not yet broken through at Group 1 level.

He ran well when last seen finishing fourth behind Giga Kick in the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 on May 13.

Cummings has deliberately kept Aft Cabin on the fresh side for a tilt at Saturday week's Stradbroke for which Think About It is currently $3 favourite with TAB fixed odds ahead of Hawaii Five Oh at $4.50.
