Kings vs. Grizzlies NBA expert prediction and odds for Monday, Jan. 29 (Fade Grizz)

The Memphis Grizzlies had a three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, but they can’t dwell on it as the Sacramento Kings are waiting on Monday night.

The Kings are looking to pick up a road win in this matchup as they find themselves in a battle for a top-six seed in the Western Conference.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are in a tough spot, as they are down Marcus Smart, Ja Morant, and Desmond Bane, leaving the team very thin in terms of offensive weapons.

Can the Kings take advantage as road favorites?

Grizzlies injury report

Sacramento Kings

De’Aaron Fox: The Kings’ All-Star point guard has put together back-to-back massive games, scoring 29 in a win over Golden State and 34 in a win over the Dallas Mavericks. Earlier this season, Fox had 24 points in a 31-point win over the Grizzlies. With Memphis on the second night of a back-to-back, the Kings and Fox could be in line for a big showing.

Memphis Grizzlies

Jaren Jackson Jr.: Credit to Jaren Jackson Jr., as he’s stepped up in a big way with Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and Marcus Smart all out. The Grizzlies big man has scored 20 or more points in five of his last six games, including 25 on Sunday against the Pacers. He has a tough task on the defensive end tonight, as he will have to handle Domantas Sabonis at times down low.

There are a few trends that favor the Kings in this game, and I’m worried about Memphis competing on the second night of a back-to-back with an already depleted roster.

This is the third game in four days for the Grizz.

Memphis is just 4-8 against the spread as a home underdog this season, and the team is also just 3-4 ATS on the second night of a back-to-back.

The Kings are solid as road favorites – 7-5-1 ATS – and they seem to have found their footing again after a brutal road trip earlier this month.

I question if the Grizzlies (29th in offensive rating) have the firepower to keep up with a Kings offense that pushes the pace and ranks 12th in the league in ORTG this season.

I’ll lay the points with Sacramento on the road tonight.
