Memphis Grizzlies live score updates vs. Toronto Raptors

Can the Memphis Grizzlies stay undefeated in 2024?

The Grizzlies kicked off the new year with a win Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs and have a quick turnaround on a back-to-back Wednesday night against the Toronto Raptors at FedExForum. The Raptors are coming off a New Years' Day win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Toronto made a major move last week when it sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks for a package that included RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. The Raptors (13-20) are on the outside of the Eastern Conference playoff picture and could make more roster moves before the Feb. 8 trade deadline.

Meanwhile, the Grizzlies (11-22) know they need to start stringing together wins. They struggled without star Ja Morant but have been reinvigorated since he returned from his 25-game suspension. Morant had a highlight-reel dunk over Spurs center Victor Wembanyama in Tuesday night's win.

Memphis head out for a three-game road trip after Wednesday's game. Follow along for live updates.

Raptors 112, Grizzlies 105 with 56 seconds left fourth quarter: Memphis running out of time

Memphis had more than one good 3-point look to cut the deficit to one score, but Jaren Jackson Jr. and Ja Morant each missed open corner 3s. The Grizzlies had made their first four 3s of the final quarter.

Toronto has just one made basket in the last five minutes, but the Raptors are clinging to the lead.

Raptors 102, Grizzlies 92 with 7:29 left fourth quarter: Grizzlies within a run

Grizzlies score eight straight points, producing a Toronto timeout and cutting the Raptors' lead to 10. What does Ja Morant, JJJ and Bane have left in the tank?

Morant has 22 points and nine assists tonight.

End of the third quarter: Raptors 93, Grizzlies 76

Memphis cut the lead to nine at one point, but Toronto is shooting the ball very well and getting good looks.

Immanuel Quickley has 21 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3. Toronto is shooting 50% from the floor and over 50% from 3 in the game.

Raptors 76, Grizzlies 62 with 6:32 left third quarter: Grizzlies have a tall task

Toronto led by as many 20 and lead by 14 during a mid-third quarter timeout.

The Grizzlies have been better, if not reliant, at second-half comebacks with Morant's return. They will need another in the second night of a back-to-back.

HALFTIME: Raptors 62, Grizzlies 48

Toronto finishes the first half on a 17-5 run to lead by 14 at the half.

Grizzlies are 6-of-20 from 3, with Ja Morant the only starting Grizzlies player with a made 3. Morant and Desmond Bane have 12 points apiece.

Pascal Siakam has a game-high 16 points.

Ja Morant limps off, returns in second quarter

Ja Morant limps off the court during a timeout in the second quarter as a Grizzlies staff member examines his right leg on the bench.

Morant eventually goes back to the locker room before returning to the bench and checking back into the game before halftime.

End of the first quarter: Raptors 30, Grizzlies 29

Toronto ends the quarter on a 10-2 run over the last 90 seconds to take the lead. Raptors' pace is getting ahead of the Grizzlies defense, and Toronto's desire to run may not be optimal for a team playing a back-to-back.

Desmond Bane leads all scorers with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting.

Pascal Siakam sits with two early fouls

Toronto star forward Pascal Siakam will sit for a little while after picking up his second foul on the offensive end with 5:57 left in the first quarter.

Siakam had 7 points in a good start for the otherwise cold shooting Raptors.

Grizzlies 14, Raptors 11 with 7:04 left first quarter: Hot start for Ja Morant

Ja Morant hit back-to-back 3-pointers to give Memphis an early lead over Toronto.

Morant also has three assists in the first five minutes of game time. He's locked in on the second night of a back-to-back.

Grizzlies starting lineup is unchanged

The same starting five from Tuesday's win over San Antonio is starting for the Grizzlies on Wednesday. Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Xavier Tillman will start.

For Toronto, newly acquired R.J. Barrett and Immanuel Quickley are in the lineup for their second game as Raptors players. The two guards were acquired by Toronto in the trade that sent OG Anunoby to the New York Knicks last Saturday.

Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam and Jakob Poeltl join Barrett and Quickley in the lineup.
