Korn Ferry members Vince India, Jake Staiano suspended by PGA Tour

Korn Ferry Tour members Vince India and Jake Staiano have been suspended by the PGA Tour for violations of the Tour's Integrity Program, which covers issues related to gambling.

According to a statement released by the Tour on Friday, India and Staiano placed bets on PGA Tour competitions but said neither bet on events in which they played.

India's sixth-month suspension is dated back to Sept. 18, which means he will be eligible to play after March 17, 2024. Staiano is suspended for three months, dating back to Sept. 11. He will be eligible again after Dec. 10.

The Tour said it will have no additional comment. It's the first time the Tour has disciplined players for gambling under the Integrity Program.

India, 34, turned pro in 2015 after playing at the University of Iowa, and has earned $569,844 in 176 career Korn Ferry Tour starts. His best season was 43rd on the Korn Ferry points list in 2020 but he sank to 129th last year, making only 10 of 22 cuts.

Staiano, 26, has made 12 cuts in 26 Korn Ferry starts over the last two seasons and earned $30,910. He played college golf at Colorado State.

The Tour established its Integrity Program in 2018 to prevent betting-related corruption in sanctioned events. Since the Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018, allowing each of the 50 states to determine its own sports betting laws, more than 30 states have permitted sports gambling.

Since then, the Tour has forged marketing agreements with DraftKings for fantasy games and BetMGM and PointsBet as official betting operators.
