Kylian Mbappé sent Liverpool transfer message as Champions League prediction made

Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cissé has stated the one player he would love to see join the Reds in a recent interview, and it's one who has been linked with Liverpool in the past.

Cissé was talking to outlet Betting Sites about a host of topics. The Frenchman, who played for Liverpool between 2004 and 2007, won the Champions League in his first season at the club. Cissé then left for Marseille and became something of a journeyman, playing for a host of sides across Europe.

Asked on which player he would love to see in the Red of Liverpool, Cissé had no doubts on who he would choose.

“[Kylian] Mbappé said himself he wants to win titles and big trophies but that he means the Champions League. He’s not going to lie to anyone — he wants to lift that trophy. Mbappé is a player who deserves to play big nights and Champions League football — but, even though PSG will be playing in the competition for many years, I don’t think the current side is strong enough to win it," said Cissé.

“I’d love to see Mbappé at Liverpool. I think Mbappé is made for English football. I know he loves Real Madrid and has been linked with them and I think he wants to go. But to see him at Anfield — he would cause a lot of damage in the Premier League. Mbappé's mum loves Liverpool — as a good boy you have to listen to your mum!”

MbappéThe Mirror), before he signed a new deal to remain at Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Liverpool.com says: Despite Cissé's words, it seems unlikely that Mbappé will ever play for Liverpool, sadly. His wages are simply out of reach for Liverpool, unless the club was sold or he took a substantial pay cut. Yet it's always nice to dream, and hopefully the former Anfield marksman is right about which team will be more competitive in the Champions League in the years to come.
