Lakers News: Is L.A. Just An Awful Team?

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings 120-114. They are now tied with the Houston Rockets for the worst record in the NBA at 2-10. LeBron James and Anthony Davis are injured and they are playing without their best players.

The Lakers lost 114-113 to Sacramento last night. The team with the worst record has the best chance of securing the top draft pick in 2023. New Orleans Pelicans have the right to swap draft picks with L.A. and have a core of Victor Wembanyama, Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, and CJ McCollum. LeBron James can no longer be counted on to stay healthy for more than 60 games a year. Russell Westbrook is the highest-paid player on the team, making about four times what he should be this season.  Lakers reserves Lonnie Walker IV, Troy Brown Jr. are playing well.

Lakers are considering a trade involving LeBron James and future first-round picks for Russell Westbrook and other players. LeBron is considered one of the best players in the NBA. However, the team is not playing well. L.A. could struggle to win 25 games in LeBron's 20th season. The team's current roster is bad.
