NBA trade deadline looms large for LeBron James and the Lakers

The Lakers have won five straight games since losing Anthony Davis. They have a lot of talent, including LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Thomas Bryant and Dennis Schröder. James is averaging 29.1 points and shooting 51% from the floor. He is also averaging eight rebounds and seven assists. He has scored more 30-plus points games than he did in December. The statistics are astonishing. Vince Carter averaged 5.4 points in his 20th season, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 10.3 points, Kobe Bryant 17.6, and Michael Jordan 17,6.

NBA trade deadline looms large for LeBron James and the Lakers. LeBron wants them to use all their assets, especially draft picks. He wants to finish his career playing at this level. He doesn't want to play at the team aspect. The Lakers have two first-round picks in 2027 and '29. They have Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn.

Lakers are on a five-game winning streak. They are half a game back of the final play-in spot. LeBron James and Jeanie Buss are considering a trade at the deadline.

LeBron wants to join the Los Angeles Lakers. He's playing at an All-NBA level and is close to a return from injury. The Lakers have a month to decide if they want to give him the team.  Lakers are going to exist post-Le Bron. They need to consider their long-term future. James has to believe that with a healthy Davis and a little help, he can beat any team once they get there.
