Lakers vs Heat Prediction, Odds, Spread, Total & Picks (Nov. 6)

The 2023-24 NBA season continues with a 12-game slate lined up for Monday, Nov. 6. One of tonight’s biggest matchups pits the Los Angeles Lakers one-on-one with the Miami Heat at Kaseya Center for a 7:30 p.m. ET clash on NBA TV.

The Lakers are on the hunt for their first road win of the year as they come off Saturday’s 120-101 loss to the Orlando Magic. The Heat, meanwhile, snapped a four-game skid as Tyler Herro’s game-high 24 points led them to a 121-114 win over the Washington Wizards in their latest outing.

Bovada’s futures odds still view both sides as potential title threats despite their slow starts to the season. Los Angeles is tied for the fifth-best 2023-24 NBA Finals odds (+1200) while Miami isn’t much further back at +2500 (T-No. 8).

If you’re looking to get into tonight’s action, this betting preview has you covered. Keep reading for the latest NBA game odds as well as my Lakers vs Heat prediction and best bets.

Lakers vs Heat Prediction & Pick (Nov. 6)

The Lakers have been one of the tougher teams to figure out this season.

On one hand, the Lakers have been perfect at crypto.com Arena this season. They’ve played to a 3-0 record at home, boasting a plus-4.3 average scoring margin along the way (No. 11).

Unfortunately, tonight’s contest isn’t in Los Angeles and the Lakers have been awful on the road. They’re winless through three road contests thus far while their minus-12.0 average margin during that span ranks sixth-worst in the NBA.

The Heat have been far from flawless this fall, but a 2-1 record at Kaseya Center is still respectable. At the same time, scoring could still prove to be difficult depending on how Miami’s injury situation develops.

Caleb Martin (knee) has been ruled out while Jimmy Butler (knee) and Duncan Robinson (wrist) — two of the team’s top-four scores — will be game-time decisions.

Meanwhile, the Lakers need a complete improvement over their last outing if they hope to win on the road. Los Angeles struggled in numerous areas against Orlando, which includes only shooting the ball 26.7% from the three-point line while being out-rebounded 51-40.

The good news for the visitors is that the Heat have struggled in both regards this season. Not only does Miami collect the second-fewest rebounds, but it also surrenders the 10th-most threes made on the fifth-highest scoring percentage.

Nevertheless, Rui Hachimura (concussion), Gabe Vincent (knee), and Jarred Vanderbilt (heel) will all miss tonight’s contest. That means it’ll be up to the Lakers’ stars — LeBron James and Anthony Davis — to lead the charge.

In a game that could go either way, I’m taking the Heat to win. I just need to see more from the Lakers on the road before backing them as the visitors. Miami has at least looked decent at home and will likely be healthier as long as Butler and Robinson play.

Having said that, I’m turning to the total — specifically the Under — due to the spread being a pick ‘em situation. After all, the Under is 4-2 for the Lakers so far this season while going 11-5 in the Heat’s 16 previous games dating back to the 2022-23 campaign.

With nine of the last 10 matchups between these teams falling short of 222.5 points, too, I predict a low-scoring affair in Miami.

Lakers vs Heat Best Player Prop

After searching through the various Lakers vs. Heat player props, I’m going with Anthony Davis hitting more than 0.5 threes as the best option.

After struggling from long range last season, Davis’ three-point shooting has improved this season. He’s averaging 0.5 threes on 42.9% shooting, finishing with the Over on this prop in two of three road games so far.

As mentioned before, the Heat aren’t good at defending the three-point shot — especially when power forwards are concerned. They’re allowing the fifth-most threes to the position in 2023-24, meaning Davis should find long-distance success tonight.

Bet: Anthony Davis o0.5 Threes Made (+170 on Bovada)
